Kershaw Kid's | Description of Activities | Katrina Scott | Carwyn Roberts

Carwyn Lloyd Roberts

My name is Carwyn Lloyd Roberts, I am 16 years old and live in a small village in Rural Wales named Llanbedr.

I am an insulin dependent diabetic, and have been so for 3 years this Christmas. Although I have a long term illness I try my best to succeed in everything I can and proving to myself and others that this will not hold me back. I am a member of the Air Training Corps and have progressed to the rank of Staff Sergeant. In the ATC we do numerous activities which are quite strenuous. These I have overcome and have been able to do everything that all other cadets can do.

I have completed my G.C.S.E.'s and have had good results, also to this I have some aviation qualifications which I have had through the ATC. I am now studying towards my A?Levels at college in Dolgellau which are Computing, Art+Design and Electronics. After collage I am hoping to go into University and study there before hopefully advancing towards a career in the Police force.

Why am I Keen to go on the Kershaw's Kids scheme?

I am a person that likes to challenge myself to different things and situations. I think that the scheme is very good and that it gives people the chance to do things that they would not be able to do otherwise. Also I think that this is a good way to show people that I am able to go to the extreme as any other person.

Benefit
I think that the scheme will benefit it me dramatically, for after I will be able to show others what I have learnt and encourage other Diabetics that it does NOT have to hold you back from anything at all.

Also I think it will benefit me by making me a stronger person and encourage myself to do a little bit more adventurous things.

Ambitions
After the scheme I hope to be able to do other things that are on the adventurous side and use the things that I have learnt to good use. I will study in college then progress hopefully with good results to university where I will study more and then hopefully progress towards a career in the police force.
